On our first Café Hamburg event we discussed the topic: „Go for Germany in Israel: How Israeli Startups can prepare before hitting the German soil.“
We invited Vika Kanar, Founder of GeekChicTLV – Center for Fashion Entrepreneurship in Israel, which has been working in PR for many years with several start-ups as customers.
She spoke about her PR experience with start-ups so far and different cooperation between Germany and Israel in this field. In her opinion the research before even starting to apply for start-up programs is highly important. This will give the new company more background knowledge about the German market and bureaucracy f.e.
Furthermore she mentioned how crucial it is to understand the German culture, if you want to open your start-up there or to find customers. To understand differences and no-gos but also things Germans and Israelis have in common. The best city for start-ups is definitely Berlin, because it is young, creative and has plenty of potential.
Vika mentioned several organizations and platforms that can be helpful for start-ups. If you also know other useful links, please write them in comments. You can also put a link of your start-up or your idea.
